Chicago boy, 9, lured into alley and executed in targeted gang hit: Cops

CHICAGO — The brutal murder of a young boy this week in Chicago's south side week was no accident according to new information from the city authorities, reported CBS. Now police suspect the Monday killing of nine-year-old Tyshawn Lee was a targeted execution in a bloody gang feud.
Lee was on his way to his grandmother's house when from school he walking along the 8000 block of Chicago's South Damen Avenue, reported the Chicago Tribune. Police believe members of the Terror Dome faction of the Black P Stones gang lured Lee into an alley and executed him, firing shots at his head and back. According to the Tribune, police suspect he was targeted due to his father's alleged ties to the Gangster Disciples' Killa Ward faction — a rival gang.
A $35,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Lee's killer's arrest, reported CNN.
The killing comes not long after prominent Terror Dome member Tracey Morgan was murdered in a drive-by shooting on October 13. Then, five days later, a Killa Ward member and a 19-year-old girl were killed while sitting in a vehicle. Police are investigating if these killings are related to Lee's case, reported the Chicago Tribune.
