Ghulam concert: Aditya Thackarey defends Sena’s stance Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray today defended his party’s decision to oppose the Mumbai and Pune concert by Pakistani ghazal artist Ghulam Ali, which was eventually cancelled by the organisers following Shiv Sena’s threat to disrupt it. “We need to stop terrorism, act strong on terror, and only have such cultural ties when terrorism stops,” said Aditya, who is the son of Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray. He reiterated that the party was not against cultural ties or art, however, he questioned Pakistan’s role in terror attacks and ceasefire violations. “No one is against cultural ties or art, it is of course moist innocent form of two countries bonding with each other but then the people killed in terror attacks or ceasefire violations are also innocent. Somewhere we need to draw a line,” he said.
