Mexico: File Opened on Airport Detention of Venezuelan Ombudsman

Mexico's semi-official National Human Rights Commission has opened a file on the possible offensive treatment and improper behavior by airport officials toward Venezuelan ombudsman Tarek William Saab. At the request of the U.S.-based Interpol, Saab was detained and questioned by Mexican airport authorities on Saturday about his travel plans and activities in Mexico. The incident, reported in the press, raises questions of Mexico's national sovereignty vis a vis its northern neighbor. teleSUR
