11 Gunmen Abduct Canadian Tourists at Filipino Island Resort

CCTV footage released Wednesday shows at least 11 men armed with pistols and rifles carried out the abduction, taking captive two Canadians, a Filipino woman and the Norwegian manager of the upscale Holiday OceanView Samal Resort. The incident occurred on Samal Island off Davao City, a southern Philippine island that has been the site of previous abductions carried out by armed factions including communist guerrillas, criminal gangs, and Islamic insurgents.
