Secretary General Stoltenberg on NATO's new challenges

In an interview with FRANCE 24 just after his first visit to Ukraine, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said he sees "encouraging signs" for peace and that a tenuous ceasefire is "mainly" holding. But the situation remains fragile, with Russia continuing to send troops and weapons to the separatist east.
Stoltenberg also confirmed that there had been a "substantial Russian military build-up" in Syria in recent weeks, warning that while Russian intervention would be welcome in fighting the Islamic State group, it would not be constructive to shore up the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.
