Sushi Croissants すし 成長?!? - Food Feeder
Sushi is a pretty perfect food that ’s been eaten in Japan for centuries. Croissants are french pastries that date back to the 1800s. What kind of madman would combine these two foods?

We’ve talked about Sushi potato chips (which is just a flavor) and sushi ice cream (which was just a gimmick and contained no actual ice cream), but this is literally what it sounds like. Somebody decided to take sushi and shove it inside a croissant. The croissant seems to be taking the place of the rice, and the roll is filled with seaweed, wasabi, salmon, ginger, and is topped with furikake.

If you are in San Francisco you can head over to Mr. Holmes Bakehouse and try out the California Croissant. Or you can just get your favorite sushi and shove it in a croissant, or even better just eat the sushi an the croissant separately. Or maybe just get some inari! Remember, just because we can doesn’t mean we should, and maybe some day we’ll stop trying to randomly shove things inside other things.

Have any of you in San Francisco tried the Sushi Croissant? What did you think? What do you like inside your croissant? Is this considered French Japanese fusion cuisine? What would happen if Mr. Holmes teamed up with Dominique Ansel to make a Sushi Cronut? Why are we so fascinated by these food mashups?
