Pope Francis begins a busy day in Cuba by holding Mass in front of an expected crowd of thousands in Havana's Revolution Plaza.
His day continues with a formal meeting with Cuban President Raul Castro and a possible meeting with his older brother, Fidel.
Francis began his 10-day trip to Cuba and the U.S. Saturday, addressing the crowd at Jose Marti International Airport upon his arrival and hailing the two countries for reestablishing diplomatic relations following a long period of estrangement.
"The world needs reconciliation in this atmosphere of World War III during this period in which we are now living," Francis said.
