A video has emerged from Russia of a fireman rescuing a cute kitten which was stuck up a tree.

In the footage, which was captured by a passer-by in the town of Balakovo on Saturday, a fireman shimmies up the tree from the top of the fire engine, and grabs the scared kitten. Unfortunately as the fireman passes the kitten to someone on the ground, it makes a break for freedom and runs across a road. A boy who was watching the rescue manages to catch the adorable feline and holds it up for the cameras.

According to the filmer, the kitten is now in need of a loving owner to take good care of it.
