Bolivian Authorities Seize Marijuana Shipments
  • 9 years ago
Bolivian authorities seized a major shipment of marijuana of Paraguayan origin on Tuesday. Over the past few months, four tons of marijuana have been seized in Bolivia, which traffickers use as a transit point en route to Chile or Argentina. Despite U.S. claims to the contrary, for the fourth straight year Bolivia has reduced land dedicated to poppy production. President Evo Morales said the country's considerable progress in the war on drugs represents "a model for the world". Dimitri O'Donnell reports from La Paz. teleSUR
