Muted response to anti-police brutality memo
  • 9 years ago
Victims of alleged police brutality and their families stared disappointment in the face again, meeting with a wall of bureaucracy when presenting a memorandum to the Home Ministry today.

Accompanied by 10 lawyers from Lawyers for Liberty, the group were hopeful of meeting with Minister Hishammuddin Hussein (right)or at least secretary-general Mahmood Adam.

They were however barred from entering the ministry building in Putrajaya, and made to wait 40 minutes before a special aide came down to receive the memorandum on behalf of Hishammuddin.
