With the general election just around the corner, outgoing Malaysian Trade Unions Congress (MTUC) president Syed Shahir Syed Mohamud said that it is time for the union to demand for workers' rights.
"Overseas, before elections, trade unions will meet with opposing political parties to table their demands in exchange for support," he told reporters after delivering his keynote speech to the 552 delegates who attended the MTUC congress in Petaling Jaya today.
