Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne hit the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of his new movie The Danish Girl. The British actor, who is best known for his portrayal of Professor Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, has yet again taken on a meaty role in the biopic of Lili Elbe, the transgender artist, who underwent the worlds first gender reassignment surgery. The old Etonian was joined at the premiere of the topical tale by costars Amber Heard, and Ex Machina's Alicia Vikander, who plays his supportive wife. The film is one of 21 in competition for the top Lion d'Or prize to be awarded at the end of the festival.
