New Guatemalan President Asks for Ministers' Resignation

New Guatemalan President Alejandro Maldonado asked all ministerial cabinet members and top government officials to hand in their resignations. He announced he would form a new government and appoint new ministers. Maldonado, who was sworn in as caretaker president after Congress accepted the resignation of former President Otto Perez Molina, who is now in jail awaiting trial for corruption, called on youth and other citizens who had been protesting since April to continue their fight for democracy and against corruption. teleSUR
