MAT Relief For FIIs - Justice AP Shah & Leading Tax Experts Discuss Implications Of MAT Decision

The Government has accepted Shah Panel’s report, which rules out MAT levy on FIIs prior to April 1, 2015. Finance Minister – Arun Jaitley said that the report will be made public soon, and circulars will be issued to remove the grey areas. The author of the report, Justice AP Shah, spoke exclusively to ET NOW’s Supriya Shrinate and said that it was never the intention of the Government to levy MAT on foreign funds with retrospective effect.
