Die Hard to Dark Knight: A History of Kicking Ass, Part 3 - Film School'D
  • 9 years ago
Welcome to the final chapter in the action-packed trilogy. Film School’D: A History of Kicking Ass, Part 3. In which all the ass is kicked, by some of the most unlikely of ass kickers! From John McClane to Bruce Wayne, we take a look at how everyone can be an action hero! Y’know, as long as you’ve got charisma and millions of dollars worth of CGI.

Somewhere along the way, we got a little tired of hyper-competence in our acton stars, and we wanted them to be more like us. Harrison Ford’s charismatic action hero as roller coaster car kicked off the trend of charisma over body in the modern action hero.

Enter the everyman, working man, nerdy dude who could save the day. Perhaps with an assist by a radioactive spider or a bunch of technology.

How did we get from the martial arts hero to the superhero? Where will we go from here? Are we a the dawn of the age of the super heroine?

What did you think - did you learn something new? Did you get SCHOOL’D? How long do you think the age of superhero movies will last? What do you think will be the next big trend in the world of action movies?
