Argentina – Menem Tried for Obstructing Bombing Probe

Former Argentine President Carlos Menem went on trial on Thursday along with 12 co-defendants accused of obstructing the investigation into the 1994 bombing of a Jewish center in Buenos Aires that killed 85 people. Menem, who ruled from 1989 to 1999 is now an 85-year-old Senator. His absence as the trial got underway drew jeers from some in the federal courtoom. teleSUR
