Brazil: Lula to Sue Journalists for Involving Him in Petrobras Scandal

Former Brazilian President Luis Ignacio Lula da Silva has announced that he will sue four journalists for reporting that he was involved in the corruption scandal at the state-owned oil company Petrobras. A cover story in the news magazine “Veja” says that one of the businessmen arrested in the scandal has decided to reveal “devastating secrets” about the alleged participation of Lula and one of his sons. Lula has called the story “repugnant” and says there is an absolute lack of elements to support the claims.
