Ecuadorans Celebrate Gains of Revolution

Thousands of people filled Independence Square in Quito on Thursday night to celebrate the gains made by President Rafael Correa and the Citizens’ Revolution, including major reductions in poverty and steady economic growth. Correa spoke to the crowd, insisting that all people are free to protest just as the Constitution says, but that such protests must take place democratically and peacefully.
