The China Shipping Container Lines is to invest the Moldovan port of Giurgiulești,
the country’s only port accessible to seagoing vessels.
The hub is vital for Moldova as its economy suffers as a result of the Russian embargo on Moldovan goods.

Thomas Moser, is from Danube Logistics:“China Shipping now offers a direct service to Moldova for Chinese exporters who export goods to Moldova, but most importantly for Moldova it also supplies a direct service from Moldova to countries like China, but also other countries in Asia and the Middle East.”
The move is part of the Chinese government’s plan to create a 21st century maritime Silk Road in collaboration with countrIes located along the route.
