Syrian Army Makes Gains Against IS Group

Battles raged in over 400 locations in Syria on the weekend, and the Syrian Army has reoccupied areas hit by the Islamic State group and now controls the border crossings with Lebanon where weapons were entering the country for the dissident group. The army was supported by the Syrian Defense Forces and by volunteers. Small planes have also launched strikes against extremists on the outskirts of the nation’s capital and inflicted heavy losses on the Nusra Front. Hazem Abdullah reports from Damascus for teleSUR.
