GRAND MOSQUE EXPANSION
Engineer Bakr bin Mohammed Bin Laden (right), chairman of the Binladen Group, gives a briefing for Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on the progress of the ongoing expansion work at the Grand Mosque in Makkah before dawn Sunday during the king’s visit to the holy city. Scheduled for completion in 2020, the SR21 billion project is expected to increase the Grand Mosque’s capacity to 2.5 million worshipers.
