Mormon Priest uses Samurai sword to ward off neighbourhood attacker

A Latter Day Saints Church priest used divine intervention of a different kind when he warded off an attacker with his samurai sword.

Mormon bishop Kent Hendrix was woken by his 14-year-old son who had witnessed a mugging taking place outside their property.

Hendrix, who has a fourth degree black belt in martial arts, grabbed his most beloved weapon - a samurai sword - and went to help.

Hendrix wielded the sword in front of the robbery who promptly ran away. The holy religious martial arts master chased after the would-be attacker who escaped in a car.

After noting down the license plate of the car, Hendrix collected a chap stick the thief had dropped.

The thief later turned himself in to police.
