Bijan Ebrahimi wrongly branded a pedo, then beaten, torched by neighbors

Bijan Ebrahimi was beaten and burned to death after being wrongly branded as a pedophile by neighbors on his estate in Brisington in Bristol, England.
Iran-born Ebrahimi, 44, upset neighbor Lee James, 24, by taking pictures of shenanigans in the neighborhood with his cellphone in the hopes of filing a police report later on.
James encouraged children to vandalize Ebrahimi's plants after Ebrahimi, an avid gardener, took footage on his mobile phone of a party organized by James that involved drug use in the presence of children. Ebrahimi filmed the children vandalizing his garden and was then accused by James of being a pedophile. Ebrahimi was taken into police custody as neighbors chanted "pedo."
When the resulting investigation failed to find any evidence of foul play, Ebrahimi was released. Police failed to notice the mob mentality of his neighbors was getting out of control. Two days later, Ebrahimi was dead. James and Stephen Norley, also 24, admitted to attacking and setting Ebrahim on fire after a neighbor's infrared camera filmed them chucking and burning Ebrahim's body.
An internal police investigation is being conducted on the officers in the initial call for not taking the situation and Ebrahimi's complaints seriously enough. Three officers have been suspended. Three are still on duty but face possible misconduct charges. Six civilian call handlers are also under investigation.
