A homicide suspect was shot and killed by police after returning to the scene of the initial crime in Spokane, Wash when he drove through a police barricade and exited his vehicle with what appeared to be a gun.
Spokane police found a woman's body in a house on Tuesday and had deemed Jeremy Arnold, 37, a suspect. Authorities had been searching for him for about two hours.
The suspect returned to the scene of the crime and cruised by a group of reporters camped out for a news conference. He then bypassed the crime tape toward a group of police officers.
Video shot by a reporter on scene shows officers swarming the blue truck with their guns drawn, ordering him out of the truck. When Arnold stepped out of the vehicle, he appeared to be holding a gun in his left hand. The officers opened fire with about eight to ten shots at close range at the suspect, who fell to the ground. A team of paramedics were called to the scene, but walked away shortly after.
In past news reports, Arnold had been called a "danger to the community" after being convicted of several violent felonies.
