Santa Ana woman kidnapped by Isidro Garcia was forced to marry and bear child for captor

A 41-year-old man in southern California was arrested on Tuesday after an unidentified woman he allegedly kidnapped, raped, and held captive for nearly a decade came forward to the police.
Neighbors familiar with the couple are stunned to find out that the woman, now 25, was in fact forced to marry her captor and give birth to his child. The victim stated that she had been unable to resist the kidnapping because she was only 15 at the time.
In 2004, the victim was living in a Santa Ana complex with her sister, mother, and her mother's then-boyfriend Isidro Garcia. After a violent fight between Garcia and the mother, the teen went to a park near their apartment. Garcia followed her and offered her five pills for her headache. The drugs knocked the girl out. Garcia next locked her up in a garage about 26 miles away in Compton.
The girl was given fake identification papers and, over the years, worked closely with Garcia at a night cleaning service. The victim married her abductor in a court marriage 2007, and bore him a child in 2012.
The family relocated often, last settling in Bell Gardens, where neighbors say they threw elaborate parties for their child, now 3.Garcia also held two jobs to support the family.
The woman had her own job and car, but claimed to have stayed out of fear even though she was not physically held captive. She was told that her family had given up looking for her, and that they would be deported if she tried to go back to them.
