Canadian police on Friday (June 6) arrested a man wanted in connection with the killing of three police officers in Moncton, New Brunswick on Wednesday. Bourque was taken into custody at around 12:10 a.m. after successfully evading police for more than a day following the shooting, according to a report by the Toronto Star. The manhunt began on Wednesday at around 7:30 p.m. when police were alerted about a man walking along the road with a gun. Bourque was spotted several times on Thursday morning, but police lost him after he fled into a wooded area. A local resident said a SWAT team entered the backyard of her home on Hildegard Drive and shouted for Bourque to surrender. Bourque then emerged with his hands up and was taken into custody. Wednesday's shooting represents the deadliest attack on the Canada's police force since four officers were killed in Alberta in 2005.
