Anwan Glover, the actor who played Slim Charles in the cult HBO series The Wire, has been treated for a stab wound he received after getting jumped in a D.C. nightclub early on Sunday.

Glover told police he was at Cafe Asia early Sunday when an unknown person punched him. He turned to face his assailant, and another person hit him on the back of the head, causing him to slip on the wet floor. Glover said that after he was kicked multiple times on the ground, he heard someone shout, “He has a knife,” and felt a sharp pain in his right side.

Glover posted on his Instagram that he was hospitalized and released. He said he is recovering and will be back soon. “I want to thank all of my fans, followers and friends for their inquiries, well wishes, prayers and love. I love you all back and I'm always going to love my city. - G #FYI- I lost my phone and will get my new one tomorrow. Much love Anwan Big G Glover”.
