Burglary fail: Homeowner kills home invader armed with shotgun in Timberlake, North Carolina

A home invader armed with shotgun was killed by a homeowner in Timberlake, North Carolina Sunday morning.
The intruder, 25-year-old Jonathan Ellias Ziminack, had several previous misdemeanor convictions for drug dealing and reckless driving.
Ziminack broke into a house with his face covered showing only his eyes and was shot by the homeowner in his bedroom around 5 a.m. Person County Sheriff Dewey Jones said Ziminack was aiming his shotgun and demanding money before the homeowner, whose name has not been released, fired one shot at him with a pistol. The bullet hit the shotgun before striking Ziminack in the stomach.
Ziminack was airlifted to Duke University Medical Center by a medical helicopter but died on the way to surgery.
After the shooting, police stopped a would-be getaway vehicle and arrested Ziminack’s girlfriend, Cody Alicia Bowling, 20. She was being held in Person County jail under a $75,000 bond on charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary.
Authorities are considering charging Bowling with first-degree burglary and attempted armed robbery.
