Bringing Spring to Comfort Women Victims of Japan
Recently, a movie about comfort women victims titled "Homecoming" began its production. The movie mirroring the victims' hardships and pain is being produced with Korean citizen's donated money. Many comfort women related cultural works such as movies, plays, and cartoons are being made in an effort to urge for a solution, but the victims' wounds are yet to be healed due to Japan's continued distortion of history and statements.
What's worse is that Japan has been distorting or understating the problem of comfort women in their textbooks for the purpose of instilling false history in younger generations. Accordingly, Korean government also has been publishing educational books such as "Toward a Correct Understanding of the Comfort Women Issue." There are 238 registered living victims who were forced to be Japanese military's comfort women, but only 53 of them remain alive today after 2 have passed away this year.
Every Wednesday, the victims come out to the streets to protest despite their old age.
