In Salt Lake City, Utah, police have concluded their investigation into the myserious deaths of five members of the Strack family in their home back in September 2014.

Friends and neighbors said that the parents, Benjamin and Kristi Strack, were worried about the end of the world and a “pending apocalypse.”

The Stracks had four children and their three youngest children died with them. The family’s bodies were found in the parents’ master bedroom, four of them tucked into bed. Their 14-year-old son Benson was lying on top of the covers, which has led authorities to speculate that he died last.

The family overdosed on lethal drug mixtures of heroin, methadone, and diphenhydramine.

The eldest son was spending the night at a friend’s that evening.

Police authorities indicated that the parents were concerned with evil in the world and wanted to escape “impending doom” along with their children.

The two youngest children’s deaths have been ruled as homicides, however the parents and the teenage son’s deaths have been ruled suicides.
