California police shoot and kill woman suspected of Anaheim laundromat stabbing

Police officers shot a suspect in front of her apartment on Sunday evening following a stabbing incident at an Anaheim, California laundromat.
A woman stabbed another woman at a laundromat in Anaheim on Sunday at around 5:30 p.m. local time. Police officers investigating the incident traced the stabbing suspect to an apartment complex about a block away.
After initially refusing to leave of her apartment, the woman finally came out wielding two knives. She was ordered to drop the weapons, but she ignored the orders.
According to a witness, when the knife-wielding woman was approximately seven feet away from the police officers, they open fired on her. The woman was immediately transferred to a hospital, where she later died.
The stabbing victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
One of the deceased woman's neighbors said that she had threatened him with a knife before and that she may have been mentally unstable. While some witnesses say the woman's actions prior to the shooting warranted police opening fire at her, others believe that the police did not give enough warning prior to the shooting.
