Ecuador: Protesters marcha against government policies

A march called by the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador opposed policies of President Rafael Correa and especially the recently established tariff surcharges on imported goods. Protesters demanded an end to the surcharges and a change in government. Government supporters believe the march is financed by the right wing and feel that the protesters do not understand that the surchartes are, in effect, safeguards is to bolster the national economy.
