S. Korea to penalize firms at industrial complex at Gaesong that comply with wage hike

South Korea is planning to impose some kind of sanctions on the companies that comply with North Korea's recent unilateral wage hike at the inter-Korean factory complex in Kaesong.
Seoul's unification ministry official told reporters on Tuesday... that the government plans to outline the possible legal and administrative steps the firms could face... if they give out raised wage payments in March.
This follows Pyongyang's decision to up the monthly wage of the North Korean workers at the complex by five-percent to 74 U.S. dollars.
Seoul has called for talks on the matter, but the call has so far gone unanswered by the North.
