AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes says he's not walking away from his responsibilities now that bodies and debris from an AirAsia jet have been found off the coast of Borneo.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) AIRASIA CEO TONY FERNANDES SAYING:

"I'm not running away from my obligations, even though we don't know what's wrong, passengers were on my aircraft and I have to take responsibility for that and I have tried to be as honest as I can, as open as I can as to what I know and many of them have given us suggestions and they continue..

He says he'll continue to work with authorities for a speedy investigation into the crash.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) AIRASIA CEO TONY FERNANDES SAYING:

"It will not change anything, it's a horrible, horrible experience."

The plane en route from Indonesia to Singapore was carrying 162 people. There have been no reports of survivors.

The Indonesian navy said 40 bodies had been recovered.
