An Atlanta-based baggage handler was recently taken into police custody following a firearm trafficking investigation. The arrest warrant for Eugene Harvey notes he allegedly took advantage of his security clearance to provide weapons, specifically guns, to another man named Mark Quentin Henry after he passed through security.

Once the guns were handed over, Henry reportedly concealed them in his luggage. He illegally brought the firearms on at least 5 flights from Atlanta to New York between May and December of this year.

Within that time frame, Harvey was able to place two assault rifles and nearly 130 handguns into the hands of co-conspirators. The plot was brought to light after one of the firearms was sold to an undercover police officer in New York.

Law enforcement authorities soon pinned Henry as a suspect and scoured through his cell phone records. It was in those documents along with security records and airport surveillance footage that they learned Harvey was helping Henry move the guns past security.

Henry was arrested on December 10th after landing at JFK airport. Officials discovered he had 18 firearms in his luggage and some of them were loaded.

Last Saturday, Harvey was arrested by FBI officials.

Mark Quentin Henry was a former Delta employee who had been fired in 2010.
