White House says it's prepared for release of CIA torture report

STORY: White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said Monday (December 8) that the Senate Intelligence Committee has told the White House it plans to release a declassified report on CIA detention and interrogation policies during the Bush Administration on Tuesday (December 9).

"The administration strongly supports the release of this declassified summary of the report," Earnest said. The President on his first or second day of office took the steps using executive action to put an end to the tactics that are described in the report and the President believes that on principal it's important to release that report so that people around the world and people here at home understand exactly what transpired.
