Lorde joins the Hunger Games

STORY: Multiplatinum and Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Lorde hit the red carpet for the world premiere of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" in London on Monday (November 10).

The 18-year-old talent was asked to curate the soundtrack album for the third installment of the global blockbuster franchise, handpicking the artists and providing the single "Yellow Flicker Beat" for the closing credits.

"At the end of this film it really feels like everything is hanging over these characters' heads. It's like do or die, you know. It's kind of now or never and I wanted to sort of capture that, I don't know crystallize it," said the singer.

To get into the headspace for writing the track, Lorde was shown the end scene of the movie before filming had finished.
