Transformation at Work—Transparently: BSR Conference 2014 - The Minute

I’m reporting from the Business for Social Responsibility Conference 2014, held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City. Hundreds of CSR and sustainability professionals, CEOs, brand executives, entrepreneurs, investors, and other interested parties gathered to discuss topics related to this year’s theme, “Transparency and Transformation.”
There was a lot of talk about change: the rapid pace of it, and the need for more of it, and even faster. This sense of urgency was best stated in a comment by Pepsico Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi in her keynote address: “being good enough is not enough.” Nooyi described transformation, as executed through the company’s “Performance with a Purpose” program, not as an achievement to be measured within a defined time frame, but as an unending process.
