Search and rescue crews scour the ocean for signs of a private U.S. airplane that crashed just off of Jamaica's coast on Friday.

Jamaica's Coast Guard Commander Antonette Wemyss-Gorman explains.

"Our basic mission at this time at this time is to continue the search to locate possible wreckage and/or survivors."

So far, they've only been able to find possible debris "consistent with that of a small aircraft" -- and an oil-slick.

The plane, which left from Rochester, New York was headed to Naples, Florida before it mysteriously went off course. When the pilot stopped responding to air traffic control an hour into flight, authorities were alerted.

They ordered U.S. fighter jets to escort the plane until it approached Cuban airspace.

After flying over Cuba, it then dropped off the radar.

New York developer Larry Glazer and his wife were on board.
