Secret Ingredient Burger Recipe

Use the meat, otherwise known as delicious, fatty-goodness, inside the bone marrow to beef up the taste of your hamburger patties. Then pickle some red onions and cucumbers, toast your buns, and top it all off with a special tangy ketchup. Blow your guests away with burgers that'll explode with flavor, and feel free to keep the secret ingredient to yourself!

Bone Marrow Burger with Home-made Pickles and Tangy Sauce Recipe

For the Burgers
• 2.5# ground beef
• 1 cup chopped bone Marrow
• 5 five hamburger buns preferably onion rolls
• 1 cup tangy sauce (recipe to follow)
• 1 head hydro bib lettuce
• 2 large ripe tomatoes sliced thinly
Combine beef and marrow and form 8 oz patties, Sauté or grill the patties until medium rare. Toast the buns. Place a leaf of lettuce on each side of the bun followed the patty on one side, and the pickles on top of the patty as well as the sauce on top of the patty.

Pickled Red Onion
• 1 red onion sliced thinly
• 1.5 cups red wine vinegar
• 1 tablespoons salt
• 1 cup of sugar
• 1 cinnamon stick
• 2 pieces of star anise
Combine the vinegar, salt, sugar, and spices in a pot and bring to a boil. Pour the hot liquid over the sliced onion and cover and let cool.

Pickled Kirby Cucumbers
• 4 Kirby cucumbers sliced thinly
• 1.5 cups Japanese rice vinegar
• 1 tablespoons salt
• 1 cup of sugar
• 1 tablespoon coriander seed
• 1 tablespoon ground turmeric
Combine the vinegar, salt, sugar, and spices in a pot and bring to a boil. Pour the hot liquid over the sliced onion and cover and let cool.

Tangy Sauce
• 1.5 cups ketchup
• ½ cup Japanese mayonnaise
• 1 tablespoon dijion mustard
• ½ cup BBQ sauce
• ¼ cup of A1 steak sauce
