MH17: Downing of passenger jet 'may constitute a war crime', say UN

The downing of Malaysian airlines flight MH17 in Ukraine “may constitute a war crime”, the UN has said.
They have called for a thorough and impartial investigation into the crash, a wish repeated by the Kremlin who asked the UN to head the probe, adding that it should respect the presumption of innocence.
Ukraine and Western governments believe pro-Russian rebels shot down the aircraft using a Russian supplied missile system.
The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov voiced his concern over bilateral agreements being made with Ukraine over the investigation of the crash site.
The UN estimates 1,100 people have died in the fighting in east Ukraine between pro-Russian rebels and the Ukrainian forces.
The probe at the crash site has been stalled by violent clashes in the area.
Dutch and Australian teams said they will reassess the situation to gain access to the site throughout Monday.
