It's time now for our Monday's edition of Arirang's 'The World Now'. I'm Kim Jae-hee.
Let's start off with the Ukrainian passenger jet that was mistakenly shot down by Iran in January.
Iran says the black boxes of a downed plane showed it had exploded due to two missiles that hit 25 seconds apart.
The Civil Aviation Organization of Iran said on Sunday... up to 19 seconds of conversation had been captured in the aircraft's cabin after the first missile struck... indicating the pilot and the passengers were still alive after the first blast and until the second missile hit 25 seconds later.
On January 8th, Iran fired ballistic missiles at two U.S. military bases in Iraq... in retaliation for the U.S. drone strike that killed a top Iranian general in Baghdad.
Missiles hit the Ukraine International Airlines flight, and all 176 people on board were killed..
Iran admitted it had shot down the passenger jet "unintentionally", calling it a "disastrous mistake".
