A 6-year-old little boy in Foxborough, Massachusetts had his birthday wish come true. Danny Nickerson is suffering from cancer. And the only thing he wanted was to open some cards.

His family and the post office probably didn’t expect to see roughly 30 thousand cards and packages come in with Danny’s name on them.

A staffer at the US Postal Service branch in Foxborough has confirmed the boy’s wish was granted. 30,000 well-wishers, many of whom are strangers sent him a card.

Danny received more mail on the day before his birthday than the entire town combined. The TV program ‘Windy City LIVE’ posted about Danny on its Facebook page and asked followers to make his day by sending a card, as he loves getting mail.

The post was shared over 250,000 times. The unnamed postal worker remarked ““It’s just beautiful that people reach out like this. It’s overwhelming.”

Danny was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer last year.

The cards and presents will hopefully be a bright light into his life and show him the world is in his corner.
