NEENAH, WISCONSIN — A loving mother in Wisconsin has urged the world to send birthday cards to his son with brain cancer, who will turn 3 years old on October 2nd.
Finley Volkman was just 8 months old when he was diagnosed with optic glioma. A two-inch tumor was found behind his eyes.
Since the tumor is inoperable, Finley has had to receive chemotherapy treatment every two weeks since then. However, the doctors said the cancer has spread a little into his spine despite the treatments.
Finley’s illness has devastated the family and prompted them to set up a number of fundraising events online. They have also set up a Facebook page called Finley’s Journey.
“We don’t know what the future holds, but we take it a day at a time and we just try to make his life special for him,” Finley’s mother told WBAY.
Finley will soon have his 3rd birthday. His family hopes to make this birthday special by asking people from around the world to send him birthday cards. If you are interested, please send your card to Finley at the following address:
