As the Palestinian death toll continues to soar, in Israel, hundreds of mourners have attended the funeral of an Israeli soldier killed in action.

20-year-old servicemen, Daniel Pomerantz, reportedly died during fierce fighting in the north-east of Gaza on Sunday.
HIs death means Israel has now lost at least 32 soldiers since it launched its military offensive against Hamas on July 8th.

Despite the growing human cost on both sides
many Israelis continue to back the operation to knock out the Palestinian militant group.

In the central city of Tel Aviv, dozens gathered in support of the army on Thursday evening.

Hamas rockets have killed three Israeli civilians since fighting began. In addition, Israel claims the Islamist group has built a vast network of tunnels from Gaza into Israel in order to launch attacks.
