World Cup 2014 Final: Germany stuns Argentina 1-0 in extra-time

Football fans poured into Estadio Maracana in Rio to watch Germany and Argentina battle it out in the World Cup final in a match that saw a lot of action but no score for more than 90 minutes. In the end, Germany came out on top to take home the 2014 World Cup title on Sunday with a 1-0 win.

The final at times was more like an MMA fight with a likely concussion for Germany's Kramer after running into Garay's shoulder, flying knees from Neuer and even a bloody eye rake from Argentina's Aguero to Schweinsteiger.

Messi won the Golden Ball award, but he came up short in the final, leaving him in Diego Maradona's shadow. It also didn't help Argentina that Mascherano tore his butthole against Holland.

Germany substitute Mario Gotze's fresh legs made the difference in extra-time in the 113th minute when he chested down an André Schürrle cross and then volleyed it past Romero for the win.

Congratulations to the Germany, the 2014 World Cup champions.
