Cleoma Breaux, Joe Falcon~The Old Drunkard & His Wife~1928 (Eng Subtitles)

Its Lazy Louisiana Weekends:
The Old Drunkard and his Wife (La Vieux Soulard et sa Femme) is a humorous Cajun song about a wife trying to goad her husband into a conversation by playfully teasing him. To add to the humor, she only gets short, sarcastic replies. This music is a variation of an old folk song better known as My Good Old Man (Mon Bon Vieux Mari).
Cleoma Breaux (vocals) and Joe Falcon (Voice) recorded this on the Decca label in New York in 1928. The French-Cajun lyrics are subtitled in English (or, at least, I tried to subtitle in English) but friends whose first language is French tell me I made some errors but also, cannot agree among themselves on an interpretation. Joe and Cleoma were some of the first (maybe the very first) to record Cajun songs. From 1928 to 1940 they performed across Southern Louisiana and Southeast Texas.
