Man arrested in Canada over police shootings

In Canada, a man suspected of killing three police officers and wounding two others has been detained.

Canadian authorities said, Justin Bourque, was arrested in Moncton, New Brunswick on Friday, bringing to an end a massive manhunt which had ran into a second night

Schools and government offices were closed and residents were told stay indoors as hundreds of police cordoned off a large area of in the eastern Canadian city of about 70,000 inhabitants.

Wednesday’s shooting was one of the worst of its kind in Canada, where gun laws are stricter than in the US and deadly attacks on police are rare.
