This is the village where I was born. I lived all my life in Montreal, Canada and some years in Paris and Madrid. When I came back to the village, as salmons often do, I began discovering this place. I see it not as the people see it for they are busy bodies going about their occupations. I see it from a distance and am discovering things about the place where I was born everyday. This place is about vineyards. There are more the 20 wineries here in this not so big village and the most important one, Viñedos de Aldeanueva is an important player in the wine business in La Rioja. On their own, Viñedos de Aldeanueva produce more then 10% of all the Rioja wine in this province. It is an excellent wine but some of the smaller players such as Viña Herminia and Viñedos Real Rubio have nothing to envy about anyone. Their wine has achieved the highest rankings worldwide. I am very grateful to the three bodegas (wineries) that authorized me to shoot scenes on and in their properties.
La Viña, in english the vineyard is a wonder to the eye in full bloom, but that's for another film. Most of the time it's resting and preparing for the next production. These images were captured during the slow months of spring, fall and winter.The film is slow-paced, but it's normal the vinyard is sleeping, but be patient and watch untill the end, I love gran finales...hahaha

Este es el pueblo donde nací. Viví toda mi vida en Montreal, Canadá y algunos años en París y Madrid. Cuando regresé al pueblo, como los salmones suelen volver al lugar donde nacieron, empece a descubrir este lugar. Lo veo no como las personas del pueblo lo ven porque son gente ocupada haciendo sus cosas y acostumbrados a lo que sus ojos ven de toda la vida. Yo lo veo de lejos y estoy descubriendo cosas sobre el lugar donde nací de manera cotidiana. Aquí se trata de viñedos. Hay más 20 bodegas aquí en este pequeño pueblo y la más importante, Viñedos de Aldeanueva es un jugador importante en el negocio del vino en La Rioja. Por su cuenta, Viñedos de Aldeanueva producen más del 10% de todo el vino de Rioja en esta provincia. Es un vino excelente, pero algunos de los jugadores más pequeños como Viña Herminia y Viñedos Real Rubio no tienen nada que envidiar a nadie. Su vino ha alcanzado los más altos rankings en todo el mundo. Estoy muy agradecido a las tres bodegas que me autorizaron a rodar escenas en sus propiedades.
El viñedo es una maravilla para la vista en todo su esplendor en los meses de verano, pero eso es para otra película. La mayoría de los meses esta descansando y se preparar para la próxima producción. Estas imágenes fueron captadas durante los lentos meses de primavera, otoño e invierno. La película es de ritmo lento, pero es normal, el viñedo está durmiendo, pero ser paciente y ver hasta el final, me encantan los gran finales…… hahaha
