48 million dollars worth of cocaine wash ashore upon a Japanese beach

In the early morning hours of November 19th, a 74 year old man discovered several sacks that had washed ashore on the coast of Yokosuka, Kanagawa, Japan. He immediately informed the police.

The four sacks contained approximately 80kg of cocaine in all, with a street value of about 48 million US dollars.

40kg of cocaine were reportedly found in the coast close to the premises of the Japanese Self-Defense Force base in Yokosuka and again in Hayama, a town next to Yokosuka.

Police added that the cocaine that washed ashore were highly believed to be from a crime syndicate's oversea delivery failure. They are still looking into the case.
